Getting paid by credit card using Stripe Connect
Pet sitters can choose to use Stripe Connect to charge pet owners' credit cards for the pet care services they provide. Stripe Connect eliminates the need to collect payments in person and helps pet sitters save time.
When pet sitters use Stripe Connect, Stripe charges a small processing fee. See the Stripe page to find out the latest Stripe fee. Cloudy does not charge any fees.
Follow the steps below to start processing client's credit cards.
- On the left navigation menu, press User Settings.
- On the User Settings page, make sure that the Display Pet Sitter Menu Items is set to ON.
- On the left navigation menu, find and press Receive Payments.
- Select Stripe Connect if it's available on the page. Stripe Connect is available for selected markets only.
- Follow the instructions displayed on the app. You will be asked to enter your info on the Stripe pages
- Once all the required info is provided, you will be able to select Stripe Connect to charge your customers' credit cards. You do not need to get your customers' credit card numbers yourself because the Cloudy app will get them from your clients when they request a service on the Cloudy app.
ⓘ To avoid any credit card processing fees, you can use DirectPay.
ⓘ When you complete a service, your client's credit card is automatically charged. The funds will then become available in your connected Stripe account, ready for you to transfer to your bank account.
